Remtairy

Remtairy is a publisher and developer specializing in the adaptation and release of high-quality Japanese indie eroge (adult video games) in English. Founded in 2017 by Rem, the company aims to provide accurate translations and localization of Japanese games for the Western audience.

The story of Remtairy’s creation is tied to Rem’s personal experiences. In June 2017, Rem was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, which was successfully removed through surgery in July of the same year. After recovering, Rem reflected on what he wanted to do with his life and how he could contribute to the world. As a big fan of eroge, he was disheartened to see his favorite Japanese indie games often poorly translated and sold in a flawed state to English-speaking audiences. Many publishers were only interested in making a quick profit, which damaged the reputation of these games and created a false impression of them outside Japan.

Rem decided to take matters into his own hands and began localizing Japanese indie eroge into English while preserving everything that made these games great. He started collaborating with a Japanese developer known as Happy Life, and together they released Meltys Quest on Steam in October 2017. This project was successful and laid the foundation for Remtairy’s future achievements.
